Ingredients for 4 people
- 1.5 kg of beef
- 50 g of butter
- 1 rib of celery
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 2 glasses of red wine
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- Meat broth to taste
- salt
- Pepper
- For the polenta:
- 250 g of corn flour for polenta
- Water to taste
- salt
Method
- Cut the meat into cubes and fry it with butter, chopped celery, onion and carrot. Pour in the wine and add the tomato paste.
- Add broth to cover the meat and cook over a low heat for at least 3 hours, until the meat becomes tender.
- For the polenta, bring the salted water to the boil and pour in the flour, stirring continuously until you reach the desired consistency.
- Serve the stew piping hot on a bed of soft polenta.
